Important Information for Ticket Holders
Programs, artists, and dates are subject to change without notice. All patrons must have a ticket, regardless of age.
Ticket Exchanges: Tickets may be exchanged within Great Performances at Mason season events, Family Series events, and select College of Visual and Performing Arts events. Ticket exchanges must be initiated at least 24 hours prior to the start of the event. Tickets must first be returned to the Ticket Office either in person, by mail, or by email. Subscribers may also exchange their tickets online by logging into their account. Please contact the Ticket Office for assistance or to initiate an exchange at (voice) (703) 993-2787 or (text) cfatix@gmu.edu.
The value of the original tickets can be applied toward the cost of new tickets and the exchange fee, or the value can be converted into account credit for later use in the same season via an exchange certificate. If the cost of the new tickets is more than the value of the original tickets, the difference must be paid to complete the exchange. If the cost of the new tickets is less than the value of the original tickets, account credit will be offered in lieu of a refund. The exchange fee is $2.50 per ticket with a maximum of $10.00 per order. Subscribers receive the benefit of fee-free exchanges.
Lost or Forgotten Tickets: If you lose or forget your tickets, please call or visit the ticket office to have your tickets reprinted for an event with reserved seating. Tickets to general admission events cannot be reprinted.
Ticket Donations: Tickets can be returned to the Ticket Office prior to the start of a performance as a tax-deductible contribution. A letter acknowledging this contribution will be mailed to the patron for tax purposes.
Ticket Fees: When ordering individual event tickets by phone or online, a service charge will be applied to your order.
- For tickets priced $20.00 or less - $4.00 per ticket
- For tickets prices $20.01 or more - $5.00 per ticket
A $12 handling fee is applied to all subscription orders.
Start times and late seating: Please allow extra time to reach the Fairfax campus and to check in and be seated. As a courtesy to the artists and our patrons, the Center for the Arts strives to start all performances on time. Patrons entering or re-entering after the start of a performance will be seated at an appropriate break in an appropriate location as determined by house management and as dictated by artists’ requirements.
Ticket Sales 30 minutes prior to performances: Starting 30 minutes prior to each performance, ticket sales and exchanges will only be made for that performance. No ticket sales or exchanges for other performances will be made. This is to ensure that ticket windows are available to patrons who need help with issues pertaining to the performance that day. The ticket windows will be open through intermission to handle any exchanges or purchases for upcoming events.
Gift Certificates: Gift Certificates are available for purchase at the ticket window or by phone during regular business hours. Gift certificates are valid for one year from the date of purchase and may be purchased in any amount. Gift certificates may be used to purchase tickets for any performances presented by the Center for the Arts. They may not be used for tickets to performances presented by rental clients.
Children: All performances require every person to have a ticket, including children, regardless of age. Youth Discounts are available for youth and children through grade 12 for all Great Performances at Mason events. At the Center for the Arts, we believe it is best for parents to determine which experiences are most appropriate for their children. However, due to the length and content of our performances, we recommend that children attending an event be at least six years of age. Children through Grade 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Students Grades 9–12 may attend without an adult but must have a valid student ID. Many events are particularly suited to families attending together and are designated as Family Friendly. More details.
Terms and Conditions: Each ticket that you purchase from us is a revocable license to attend a particular performance. We have the right to revoke the license for a ticket and void the sale if our ticketing policies or terms and conditions have been violated.
The Center for the Arts reserves the right to reseat patrons based on new health and safety guidelines and production information.
