Frequently Asked Questions
Lost Tickets
Don’t worry. Simply call the Ticket Office at 703-993-2787. When you arrive for the performance, the Ticket Office staff will have replacement tickets waiting for you at Will Call.
Locating Your Seats
Friendly ushers and house staff members are stationed throughout the Concert Hall prior to each performance to help guide you to your seats. Printed tickets include an indication of “left” or “right” to help facilitate the seating process. A detailed version of the Concert Hall seating chart can be viewed here. Row E is the first row of the orchestra level for Virginia Opera events and other select performances. Wheelchair accessible seats and spaces are in Rows G, N, and V. Please note: events in Harris Theatre, TheaterSpace, and the deLaski Performing Arts Building are often general admission seating.
Late Seating Start Times, Late Seating, and Re-Entry Into Venue
Please allow extra time to reach the Fairfax campus and to check in and be seated. As a courtesy to the artists and our patrons, the Center for the Arts strives to start all performances on time. Patrons entering or re-entering after the start of a performance will be seated at an appropriate break in an appropriate location as determined by house management and as dictated by artists’ requirements.
Accessibility Accommodations
The Center for the Arts is committed to ensuring performances are accessible to all patrons and provides access for disabled patrons. Accessible seating is available through all avenues of ticket sales on a first come, first served basis. Accessible wheelchair locations consist of a space appropriate for a patron-provided wheelchair.
Please call 703-993-8881 or email cfatix@gmu.edu with any accessibility accommodation requests beyond wheelchair accessible seating. Requests for audio description, captioning, interpretive services, or braille programs must be made at least two weeks prior to the event; more advance notice is appreciated. Assistive listening devices (FM hearing devices; 72MHz) and a limited number of sensory kits are available at the Courtesy Desk (located along the curved wall of the main lobby) prior to each performance.
Free accessible parking is available on Mason Pond Drive in front of the Center during performances: vehicles must have a DMV-issued license plate, hangtag, or other permit (Mason permits are not required during performances).
More information about accessible options at the Center for the Arts.
Youth Tickets
All patrons, regardless of age, require a ticket. Children and youth through grade 12 may join a ticket holder for any Great Performances at Mason event at half of the adult price. There are many events identified as “All Ages,” which are appropriate for audience members of all ages, including children, to enjoy together. In an effort to ensure an exceptional experience for all of our patrons, we recommend that children attending events other than “Family Friendly” be at least six years of age. More information for families at the Center for the Arts.
Lost and Found
The Lost and Found is located at the Courtesy Desk directly behind the Ticket Office. Center for the Arts patrons can also call 703-993-2787 if they discover that they have left something behind. For events in Harris Theatre, TheaterSpace and deLaski 3001, items left behind may be claimed at the Lost and Found in the Johnson Center. Wallets and cell phones are kept in the Center for the Arts safe.
Inclement Weather
The Center for the Arts makes every effort to present scheduled performances even in the event of inclement weather. However, there are times when extraordinary weather conditions cause an event to be cancelled or rescheduled. Please check the website homepage or call the Ticket Office at 703-993-2787 for performance updates. If an event is canceled or rescheduled, you will be contacted by email or phone to notify you of your options regarding exchanges or refunds. Please contact the Ticket Office or log into your account to update your contact information if your phone number and/or email address have changed.
