Can I buy additional tickets at a discount?

How do I exchange my tickets?

No-fee ticket exchanges are a subscriber-only privilege. It’s easy and you may exchange as often as necessary for tickets in the Great Performances at Mason season and Family Series.

You may exchange your tickets at the Center for the Arts Ticket Office or by using the return envelope included with your tickets. All exchanges must be completed by the day before the date on the ticket that is being exchanged. Though your tickets need to be returned to the Center for the Arts Ticket Office, you are welcome to call the Subscriber Helpline at (voice) 703-993-2787, and discuss your exchange with our Ticket Office staff. Our staff will help you determine the best way for you to complete your exchange.

Online exchanges may be available in your account once the season begins. Once logged into your account, click on “My Ticket Inventory” in the top navigation. Then select “Exchange Tickets” from the Ticket Action dropdown menu and select tickets from your list of events below. You can choose from a list of other Great Performances at Mason events and select new seats. You may also access available account credit online through your account. A credit card is required in case identification is needed for any follow-up customer service. If the amount of credit available is sufficient to pay for your order, your credit card will not be charged.

May I exchange tickets when I am at the Center for another performance?

If you arrive early for a performance, the Ticket Office staff will be pleased to help you with your exchange for a future event. Please note, however, that within 30 minutes of a performance start time, the Ticket Office will only transact business for that event. Ticket Office staff members are also available during the intermission at most performances to assist with exchanges for future events.

What happens when I exchange tickets for tickets at a different price?

If the new tickets have a greater value than those that you are exchanging, you will pay the difference in price. If the new tickets have a lesser value, you will not receive a refund of the difference. However, this difference will be made available to you as account credit or can be considered a donation to the Center for the Arts, (tax-deductible as allowed by law).

Which events may I exchange into?

Patrons are welcome to exchange into any event in the same season of Great Performances at MasonFamily Series, and the College of Visual and Performing Arts events. You may also turn back your tickets to the Center for the Arts as a contribution that is tax-deductible as allowed by law, so long as you do so prior to the event. Ticket donations cannot be accepted after the performance date has passed. This will allow the Ticket Office to sell your tickets to someone else, and you will receive a letter in the mail from the GMU Foundation acknowledging your donation.

May I exchange my tickets for events at the Hylton Performing Arts Center?

Great Performances at Mason subscribers may apply the value of their subscription tickets toward the purchase of full-price tickets for Hylton Presents performances at the Hylton Performing Arts Center on Mason’s Science and Technology Campus in Prince William County. Performances by Resident Arts Partners at the Hylton Performing Arts Center are not eligible for exchange.

Payments will be divided into three equal parts. The first payment will be charged on June 12, the second payment will be charged on July 12, and the final payment will be charged on August 12. Tickets will not be distributed until the final payment has been received.

Is there a subscription handling charge?

The handling charge subsidizes the ticket delivery cost of the subscription packet and the subscriber benefits. This one-time charge is applied to orders purchased online, over the phone, and in person.

Patrons arriving after the start of a performance will be seated at an appropriate break and in an appropriate location, as determined by house management, and according to artists’ requirements.
