George Mason University’s School of Dance presents the 2024 Mason School of Dance Gala Concert on March 22 and 23, celebrating a rich array of diverse choreographic voices that span from the early days of modern dance to the freshest perspectives of today.
An alumnus of The University of Southern Mississippi and Florida State University, Lawrence M. Jackson is an artist-scholar who has published in scholarly journals in the field of Black Dance.
Vic Adebusola is a seasoned dancer, instructor, and arts manager. Vic is the Commercial Dance Director for Metropolitan School of the Arts, leading the organization's after-school hip-hop and contemporary dance programs.
Shaun Boyle is a dance practitioner and educator with research interests in classical and contemporary ballet, modern/contemporary dance, and choreographic practice.
Susan Shields became the Director of the School of Dance again in June 2024. She is the recipient of the 2006 Choo-San Goh Award for Choreography, has created dances for numerous professional companies and universities.
Choreographer, dancer, and educator, Ms. Reedy was the founder and artistic director of Karen Reedy Dance (KRD) from 2007-2015. A highly musical artist with strong choreographic sensibilities for pattern, texture and emotion, her works span the continuum of classical and contemporary dance in traditional as well as site specific performance.
Born into a family of dancers, Christopher d’Amboise has had many careers: dancer, director, choreographer, playwright and teacher.
