Johnna Johnson

Johnna Johnson joined Mason as the new Assistant Director of Development for the College of Visual and Performing Arts, and in this role she will be working closely with the Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music and Friends of Music at Mason. 
 
“I love fundraising and the communications aspects of my job,” she says. “You get to see who the money you raise for scholarships is going to. It’s great to see how the money will be used by the students who truly need it.”
 
Johnna has a degree in communications from Eastern Michigan University and an MPA (Masters in Public Administration) from Eastern Michigan University. She and her husband moved here from Omaha in March. She spent a lot of time in the Detroit metropolitan area, attending Mercy High School and singing with the “Mercyaires” high school singing and performing group. She played viola through middle school and high school.
 
In addition to her work with FOMM she will also be working with Friends of Theater, Friends of Dance, and Friends of Film at George Mason.
