On Sunday, September 22, piano lovers and aficionados will be gathering in the Concert Hall for an afternoon and evening of spectacular piano performances. The “Grand Piano Celebration” kicks off the gala at 3pm, with faculty and students of the George Mason School of Music taking to the stage to display their remarkable talents. They will be led by Linda Apple Monson, Director of the School of Music. Student artists will be featured during the first half, and then followed by outstanding Mason faculty artists, including Anna Balakerskaia playing duo-piano with Dr. Monson.
Following the Grand Piano Celebration will be a Dinner in the Key of D (“D” is for “Delicious”) on the Monson Grand Tier in the Concert Hall. Then at 7pm, the Concert Hall will feature pianist Jeffrey Siegel, returning to perform his renowned “Keyboard Conversation” series for the 27th year at George Mason University. These concerts with commentary focus on the composer of the piece as well as highlighting certain passages. Mr. Siegel will be performing works by Mozart and Haydn.
