Audra McDonald headlines this year's Arts by George event at CFA.
The biggest event of the Center for the Arts season is nearly here! Every September, the seven academic disciplines in the College of Visual and Performing Arts, the Mason Community Arts Academy, and the Green Machine Ensembles join forces to present the annual ARTS by George! benefit to raise funds for student scholarships and community arts programs.
Students and faculty from each discipline collaborate in a series of behind-the-scenes showcase performances and exhibits in open studios and rehearsal halls of the deLaski Performing Arts Building. The event includes award-winning wine and restaurant stations from the top restaurants in the D.C. region, as well as a silent auction of arts-related items and experiences.
This year, the evening culminates in a gala performance by Tony, Grammy®, and Emmy® Award winner, Audra McDonald, in the Concert Hall, followed by an on-stage champagne and dessert reception with the guest artist.
