Broaden your horizons with a quick visit to the Center for the Arts Ticket Office! Did you know that George Mason University is consistently ranked as one of the most diverse universities in Virginia? Mason Nation is proud of its diverse community—of which the Center for the Arts Ticket Office staff is an excellent cross section.
The ticket sellers are Mason students and recent graduates whose fields of study are just as diverse as the sellers themselves. Consisting of undergraduate and graduate students, the sellers are studying health care, engineering, and tourism—to name just a few areas—with approximately half of the staff majoring in programs offered by the College of Visual and Performing Arts, such as theater, music, and arts management.
The current staff is also well versed in several languages, including but not limited to Spanish, French, Mandarin, Tagalog, Ilocano, Bisaya, Vietnamese, and Korean. Many of the sellers have traveled to study abroad while some have traveled from abroad to study here at Mason. During breaks in the academic year, the sellers return to hometowns across the country, spanning from Virginia to California, and across international waters to various provinces in China and beyond. Over the past 20 years the staff has consisted of sellers from 16 different states and from 14 different international locales: the Bahamas, Costa Rica, Jamaica, Iceland, the United Kingdom, Nigeria, Cameroon, Estonia, Russia, China, India, the Philippines, Korea, and Japan.
The Center for the Arts Ticket Office provides ticketing for the Great Performances at Mason season, the Family Series, the College of Visual and Performing Arts’ events, and a variety of rental events, ranging from community productions to national tours, in the Concert Hall, Harris Theatre, TheaterSpace, and other campus and community venues.
