In an <strong><a href="https://www.npr.org/2021/06/22/1008866029/renee-elise-goldsberry-girls5eva-hamilton"><span><span>interview with NPR</span></span></a></strong><span><span>,<em> </em>Goldsberry recalls being cast in the role, stating, “I knew the role was special. I knew there was just magic everywhere. . . Filmed during the height of COVID-19, <em>Girls5eva</em> released its first season in 2021, followed by its second season the following year to rave reviews by fans and critics alike.
